Welcome from
Our president
Since its inception in 1986, HABJ has been dedicated to connecting with the community while including all members in building the futures of the organization and those it serves.
Representation and diversity matters. It is our responsibility that our truth seekers, storytellers and media representatives are reflective of our surrounding communities.
One of our main missions is shaping the next generation of media professionals in and out of the newsrooms, addressing societal concerns, and informing the community of what is happening in the world, therefore nurturing our students with much-needed scholarships and continuing education workshops are at the forefront of our initiatives.
We welcome everyone from all facets of media; print, broadcast (radio, television, online / podcasts) in addition to public relations, corporate communications, etc.
We thank you for your interest and look forward to long-lasting relationships.
Respectfully,
Nakia L. Cooper
