Freddie Willis, the Treasurer of the Houston Association of Black Journalists (HABJ), is a steadfast pillar of the organization who has tirelessly served under various presidents, quietly keeping the wheels turning. Today, we come together to send our collective love, prayers, and support to “Mr. Freddie, ” as he is affectionately known.
Mr. Freddie, who has always been the backbone of our organization now finds himself in a season of healing and rehabilitation after suffering a medical emergency a few months ago.
As of this moment, it’s uncertain how long Mr. Freddie’s road to recovery will be. What is certain, however, is the unwavering support and love that surround him.
Mr. Freddie is not just a colleague; he is family. His infectious laughter, sage advice, and warm presence have touched us all. So, let us join hands, hearts, and minds as we continue to be an uplifting source of comfort and strength for him and his family during this challenging time.
Mr. Freddie, your HABJ family loves you dearly, and we eagerly await the day when you’ll return to us, stronger than ever. Until then, know that you are in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers every step of the way.
For those who wish to provide additional support, whether through donations or messages of encouragement, you can reach out to Membership Chair Shavonne Herndon, or President Nakia Cooper. Every gesture, big or small, makes a difference and is a testament to the power of community.
